SF Power BI Toolkit

Tools for designing, building, checking and explaining Power BI reports and models, with or without Copilot. They’re grouped in the order a report gets built.

Check everything before you use it. AI can make mistakes, and generated output can be wrong. The toolkit is provided as is, without warranty, and you use it at your own risk. Read the full disclaimer.
Connect your model onceTools marked Uses your model read it. Export it once here and every tool picks it up. The rest work without it.
Step1

Export your model from Power BI Desktop

One DAX query lists the model’s tables, columns, measures (with their formulas and descriptions) and relationships. It reads the model’s definition only, not your data.

  1. Open your report in Power BI Desktop and select DAX query view on the left rail.
  2. Paste the query below into a new query tab and select Run.
  3. Above the results grid, select Copy. It copies every row with the column headers.
DAX query: model export

Tip: rename the query tab to Toolkit export and keep it. DAX query view saves it in the file, so next time you only select Run and Copy.

Step2

Paste it once

It’s saved in this browser and shared by every tool on this site. Paste a new export whenever the model changes.

Saved your report as a Power BI Project (PBIP)? You can skip the export: choose PBIP folder in any tool’s Connect your model step, and every other tool picks it up too.
